On September 12, The Compound Gallery hosted its first exhibition, a collaborative project by the gallery’s founder and operator Set Free Richardson and renowned hip hop photographer Jonathan Mannion. The Compound is a Bronx-based agency, creative space and shop dreamt up by Richardson and special projects curator Yasiin Bey, the retired rapper formerly known as Mos Def. The inaugural show “I Got A Gallery.” “I Got A Show.” includes nearly 50 photographs by Mannion that span his career from his most iconic works to ones previously unseen.
