After a long afternoon of art-viewing at TEFAF, the only logical next step? Cacio e pepe and tiramisu—preferably upstairs at Casa Tua.
To toast the opening of the New York art fair, CULTURED Editor-in-Chief Sarah Harrelson and Valentino CEO of the Americas Daniel Paltridge gathered a crowd of collectors, curators, exhibitors, and more for dinner and a catch-up. The private upstairs dining room—equal parts Milanese ease and Upper East Side posh—proved the perfect post-fair salon.
Harrelson welcomed guests––including collectors Komal Shah, Dana Farouki, and Kinga Lampert; Away Founder Jen Rubio; Shirin von Wulffen; TEFAF Executive Committee President Hidde van Seggelen; and TEFAF exhibitor Lucas Ratton––before Paltridge raised a glass to the enduring dialogue between art and fashion, a relationship Valentino has fostered throughout its history. Paltridge traced the connection back to Mr. Garavani himself and up through Alessandro Michele's current technicolor visions.
With conversation flowing as easily as wine, guests swapped booth favorites, stories of last-minute acquisitions, and hopes for future fairs. Nothing says “art week is officially here” like a long dinner and, in a time brimming with places to be and things to see, it’s the moments around the table that are sure to leave a lasting impression.
