Gagosian’s Sophia Cohen and Lily Mortimer, David Zwirner’s Thor Shannon, and House of Gaga’s Fernando Mesta threw a festive soirée in Miami Beach last Thursday. Taking over the Miami Beach EDITION’s Basement Bowl & Skate, the young collectors hosted the well-heeled art enthusiasts and buzzy artists alike, who bopped around the disco-themed venue.

Spotted under the neon glow were photographers Tyler Mitchell and Andrew Tess; artists Dustin Yellin, Marquise Stillwell, and Nikolai Haas; actor Leopoldine Huyghues Despointes; curator Destinee Ross-Sutton; and a slew of other young art world notables.

Among the throng of events celebrating established artists and institutions last week, this fête stood out as a spotlight for rising collectors. The boutique hotel’s nightlife hub provided an ambient setting for the guests, who danced and bowled to tracks spun by New York It-girl and 2021 CULTURED Young Artist DeSe Escobar, sipping cocktails and debriefing the week’s fair highlights.
