When attendees are toying with rainbow jello shots, taking in an enviable art collection, and dancing in front of soaring views of Manhattan, it may seem like the party could go on forever. Last week, one almost did. On the cusp of its official opening this fall at 520 Fifth Avenue, social club Moss hosted its inaugural Pride celebration with the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative a few doors down at their temporary studio, bringing together the art and fashion sets for an evening of revelry.
The Locale: Moss Studio, a Midtown venue lined with bookshelves, art, and tall windows overlooking Bryant Park and the city skyline.
The Crowd: A dynamic mix of artists and tastemakers including Luar designer Raul Lopez, chef Romilly Newman, model Fernando Casablancas, artist Roberto Maria Lino, gallerist Cierra Britton, art advisor Jonathan Gardenhire, photographer Kate Owen, and Platform‘s Richard Thayer, alongside a lively community celebrating Pride with purpose (and a splash of floral bitters).
Food and Drink: Cheekily-named cocktails including the Face Card, Queen of Fifth, and CosMOSSpolitan flowed freely alongside playful nods to the Pride season, including color-speckled jello shots on silver trays, which became the unofficial emblem of the night.
The Entertainment: DJ and model Gilly Chan of female music collective Les Filles threw down on the decks, turning the library-turned-dancefloor into a euphoric playground of Pride anthems and crowd-rousing surprises (with a vital honorable mention to the second DJ in the mix, Alexis De La Rosa, of course).
What You Missed: A rare chance to connect with key voices from the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative amid a festive scene, alongside warm remarks from the group’s CEO and Co-Founder Stacy Lentz.
