Artist Monica Ahanonu, Cultured and Little Book Coauthors Billy Clark and Clayton Apgar Kick Off Frieze New York with a Cocktail Party at the New York EDITION

Last night, Cultured joined forces with Little Book coauthors Billy Clark and Clayton Apgar to celebrate the success of their career bible and kick off Frieze New York week. The event took place in the Lobby Bar at the New York EDITION hotel in Madison Square and was co-hosted by artist Monica Ahanonu, whose vibrant illustrations have been featured by Google, Peloton, Facebook, Vanity Fair and Adobe. The crowd was a delightful mix of creatives of all types as art aficionados are currently gathered in the city for the exciting days ahead, beginning with this morning’s VIP preview of Frieze art fair.

Since 2016, Clark and Apgar have led Billy Clark Creative Management, a boutique search firm for creative design and lifestyle businesses. They have advised and worked with businesses including The Row and Equinox, and talented individuals like Peter Marino, Kelly Wearstler and Ian Schrager. Because of the duo’s expertise in the field of curating professional identity and direction, they wrote Little Book to help individuals reframe how they approach their careers and to give advice on how to find and execute new opportunities. As two of the most sought-after career experts in the world, Clark and Apgar are kindly sharing a bit of their knowledge with the rest of us.

At the EDITION, the Lobby Bar felt both luxurious and cozy while guests mingled, sipped glasses of wine and cocktails and paged through their copies of Little Book. Partygoers included artists Sarah Coleman and Shantell Martin, architect Enrico Bonetti, designers Loris Diran and Timo Weiland, models Bambi Northwood-Blyth and Michelle Song, Maison Margiela’s Laura Giulini, Tiffany & Co.’s Samuele Brianza and RISD president Crystal Williams. Spring is officially in the air in New York, and the crowd’s vibrant fashions and mood were worn to match. The excitement of gathering again was palpable.
