13.88 grams of gold—that's the Quatre ring, a staple of the French fine jewelry maison Boucheron since its introduction in 2004. Just in time for the ring’s 20th anniversary, the house has unveiled an ambitious slate of programming, along with new creations, to celebrate and expand our understanding and experience of the iconic silhouette.

The Quatre line, now comprising necklaces, belts, bracelets, and more recently hair jewelry, in addition to the ring that started it all, has become a timeless classic, thanks in part to its versatility. Individually fashioned and seamlessly assembled, the four distinct bands that make up the Quatre style can be worn in tandem or in a myriad of individualized permutations. Its form transcends gender—there is a way to Quatre for everyone.

The line’s technical innovation dovetails with its appreciation for Boucheron’s storied archives and its repartee with Paris. Each facet of Quatre embodies an aspect of Boucheron history: the Double Godron symbolizes eternal love, the Clou de Paris pays homage to the Maison's historic address on Place Vendôme, a row of diamonds epitomizes Boucheron's savoir-faire, and a ribbed silk fabric motif evokes its atelier origins.

A flowing ribbon serves as the Hero Design of the 20-year milestone and will unify a set of seven new pieces: two necklaces, three bracelets, a belt, and a hair jewel. An ultra-precious edition of the Quatre Classique ring introduces spessartite garnets and yellow sapphires to enhance the Double Godron code, intensifying the shimmer of diamond rows and contrasting with the matte finish of the Clou de Paris brown.

Supermodel Anja Rubik, face of the brand, was chosen to embody the anniversary campaign. She is featured in instantly iconic imagery wearing a specially designed cape crafted from 315 Quatre rings. Such material will grace the interiors of specialty boutiques that Boucheron will tour globally throughout the year. The first boutique opened in Paris in March, with another set to launch in Seoul in June, followed by stops in Shanghai in August and Tokyo in October.

A potential treasure adds to the allure of each pop-up boutique. Boucheron has hidden four golden tickets in nail art sets for purchase. The prize for the lucky finders: a Quatre ring. Mystery, an international presence, storied elegance, gold—all converge in this exciting slate. With these offerings, Boucheron honors the piece that’s matched its appetite for innovation, and plants the seeds for a momentous future. “You can’t create an icon. Icons are wrought over time,” says Boucheron CEO Hélène Poulit Duquesne. Quatre is well on its way.
