Flash bulbs cut through the night as a sea of fashion and culture’s finest stepped into frame at the 14th LACMA Art+Film Gala this weekend. Co-chaired by LACMA trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio, the night paid tribute to artist Mary Corse and filmmaker Ryan Coogler, who were honored for their contributions to art and cinema. What’s more, the gala closed with a record $6.5 million raised, all in support of LACMA’s mission and ongoing film initiatives.

The Setting: Beneath the glow of Chris Burden’s Urban Light in the museum’s Smidt Welcome Plaza, a constellation of Hollywood talent and entertainment leaders gathered. LACMA’s Art+Film pavilion, alongside Michael Heizer’s Levitated Mass overhead, set the stage for the evening’s programming. Dinner was crafted by chef David Shim—of Michelin-starred Korean barbecue hub COTE—pairing poised curatorial design with festive indulgence.

The Crowd: In attendance were actors Angela Bassett, Salma Hayek, Elle Fanning, Kerry Washington, Laura Harrier, Demi Moore, Ed Norton, Kristen Wiig, Dustin Hoffman, Tessa Thompson, and Charlie Hunnam; models Delilah Belle, Devon Lee Carlson, Vittoria Ceretti, Alex Consani, Paloma Elsesser, Kaia Gerber, and Cindy Crawford; musicians Beck, Demi Lovato, Steve Lacy, Finneas O’Connell, Kim Petras, and Rina Sawayama; Gucci designer Demna; jewelry designer Gaia Repossi; and director Jon M. Chu.

The Entertainment: Following heartfelt tributes from the likes of Angela Bassett, James Turrell, and honorees Ryan Coogler and Mary Corse—“It’s such an honor to be working with this museum, which really supports artists who have a new way of seeing,” Corse said—the night culminated with a performance by Doja Cat, introduced by SZA.

What You Missed: Between the dancing and champagne toasts, the gala offered a rare convergence of global talent, each raising a glass in celebration of art, film, and the institution—which is sure to host many more unforgettable nights to come. “I was moved by the warm tributes to our honorees and their powerful work, and Doja Cat’s mesmerizing performance was the perfect way to end the evening,” Chow shared.
