In the midst of the weekend festivities, on July 6, Lehmann Maupin, Guild Hall and Cultured celebrated Tony Oursler’s solo exhibition “Water Memory” with a cocktail reception at the private residence of Jenny and Trey Laird in Bridgehampton. Oursler’s show is on view at Guild Hall through July 21. Filling the entire museum, the exhibition includes a projection on mist that the artist has been working on for the past 18 years as well as a new series of multimedia works featuring glass and microcomputers. Guests including Guild Hall’s Executive Director Andrea Grover, Rashid Johnson, Sheree Hovsepian, Alexandra Chemla, Tyler Mcclellan, David Salle, Jessica Morgan, Lisa Phillips and Edwina von Gal mingled and sipped on Whispering Angel, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Casa Dragones while flipping though Cultured’s summer issue featuring cover stars Dev Hynes and Leikeli47.
