Five Minutes with Ceramica Cielo

Italian bathroom design studio Ceramica Cielo landed in Miami this fall, bringing its masterfully crafted ceramics to the Design District. Known for working with top designers across various industries, Cielo focuses on highly functional, sleek silhouettes to deliver elevated designs. We caught up with Cielo to learn what makes them stand out.

What excites you the most about being in the Design District? We are opening a seasonal space in the Design District in Miami following the great attention and the expansion that we have gained over these last years. The Design District location offers an opportunity to showcase the collections among the most well known high-end furniture and fashion brands in the world.

Why did you choose Miami as the city to debut Cielo in the US? Miami was chosen because Disegno, the agency exclusively representing the company, is based in Miami and obviously because of the strategic geographical location of the city, which is a gateway to Latin American countries as well.

What sets Cielo apart in the industry? The uniqueness of the brand is actually a mix of different ingredients: the quality of its designs, the accurate selection of materials, the attention to detail and, most of all, the right balance between innovation and craftsmanship.

Tell us about the materials you work with. Ceramic is the protagonist: a noble material used over centuries and around the world to give life to the finest products but also a a difficult one to shape and control. The mission is to bring ceramic beyond the boundaries of the known to explore shape, size, thickness, texture and color. Our masters craft ceramic to create contemporary, timeless designs. The nobility of ceramic combined with other materials and the 16 exclusive matte shades (called Le terre di Cielo)—in which the ceramic is made available as a result of true alchemic experiments—provides a great versatility, endless customized solutions and singular sensorial experiences.

Ceramica Cielo is located at 19 NE 39th in the Miami Design District and can be contacted at 305.778.0398. Email here for more info.
