In a swirl of Village history, bumping bass, and Ruinart champagne, CULTURED gathered its community at downtown mainstay People’s Tuesday evening. For the event, New Art Dealers Alliance Executive Director Heather Hubbs, AWG Art Advisory Founder Alex Glauber, artist Aglaé Bassens, and CULTURED Editor-in-Chief Sarah Harrelson took the stage for an insightful panel moderated by advisor Anne Parke before the group broke into a cocktail reception.

The Locale: People’s—an art salon and evening club in Greenwich Village—hosts rotating exhibitions of contemporary works in the historic former Downtown Gallery space, which played a key role in showcasing early American Modernism.

The Crowd: A coterie of artists, advisors, writers, and cultural tastemakers converged, including arts patrons Laurence Milstein and Carla Shen, CULTURED Arts Editor-at-Large Sophia Cohen, CULTURED contributor Adam Eli, designer Adam Charlap Hyman, People’s Co-Founders Margot Hauer-King and Emmet McDermott, entrepreneur Hannah Deits, gallerists Stefania Bortolami and Silke Lindner, artist Lizzy Lunday, and writers Andrew Zucker, Lane Nieset, and Maya Kotomori.

The Entertainment: A panel exploring the state of the art world, with reflections on social media’s role in market movements, education, and informing one’s taste.

Parting Gift: Each guest received a copy of the CULTURED at Home design issue and a custom tote bag featuring work hand-drawn by artist Jay Miriam.
