Bulgari has long been a fixture of film-world glamour, outfitting stars in fine jewelry for carpets rolled out across the globe. Now, the Roman house is formalizing its presence ahead of a packed awards season. The fine jeweler has partnered with the Costume Designers Guild for their upcoming ceremony, celebrating the designers, assistants, and illustrators behind your favorite on-screen looks.

The award statuette, unveiled ahead of the 28th Costume Designers Guild Awards this February in Los Angeles, epitomizes Bulgari’s position as a strategic supporter—and its commitment to timeless craft. “What a dream to reimagine our magnificent partnership with Bulgari—we are so honored,” said Costume Designers Guild President Terry Ann Gordon. First conceived by designer David Le Vey and originally minted by Bulgari nearly 30 years ago, the sculptural object’s billowing fabric calls back to the striking visuals of Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse’s dance sequence in Singin’ in the Rain.

Alongside the awards ceremony, Bulgari will host a dinner series convening Oscar and Emmy-nominated costume designers across film and television. “Cinema and the arts have always been at the heart of Bulgari’s identity. From our earliest creations to our most iconic designs, we have drawn inspiration from the emotion of performance, and the visionary spirit of those who shape culture” Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin explained.

The partnership is a natural extension of the house’s credo, connecting the exacting design of its crafstpeople with the creativity of the entertainment industry’s foremost storytellers. After all, costume designers—not unlike a purveyor of haute joaillerie—are trained in the art of transforming simple materials into timeless cultural icons.
