Beauty Fashion The DMs

Overwhelmed by the Trend Cycle? We Asked Our Favorite Creatives to Nominate Beauty and Fashion Rituals Actually Worth Your Time

Done chasing trends that fizzle before the season ends? Same. We asked a mix of actors, authors, photographers, and style insiders to share the obsessions they're swearing by this season and beyond. The results are refreshingly human: a brocade blazer with Saint Laurent swagger, the surprisingly addictive practicality of a straw cup, and skincare rituals that don't take all night. These are the trends that stick—not because they speak the loudest, but because they make life in a chaotic world feel just a little better.

"Brocade blazers are having a moment, and I’m hoping to see a lot more of them this spring/summer. Saint Laurent brought them back with that signature '70s edge—cool, chic, and totally timeless. There’s something about brocade that instantly elevates a look; it’s glamorous, textured, and full of personality. You can throw one over jeans for a laid-back statement or pair it with tailored pants for an effortlessly elegant evening vibe. It’s the kind of piece that feels fresh and nostalgic at once."

"Trend: Running. My take: Arnica baby! As a recent running addict, I over-trained last December and landed myself in Runner’s Knee Rehab: physical therapy (shoutout Fusion PT). But no woman is an island. And this blonde relies on Weleda’s Arnica oil to soothe my muscles. I lap that stuff on like sunscreen. Liberally applied, it does the trick and soothes my aches. Now, I knee-d not worry!”

"I have a very simple skincare routine and tend to forgo makeup day to day, but become extremely bronzed—and sweaty—come summer time. When I got married last August, my HMU artist suggested that I get a lash lift, so that I didn't have to worry about smudging or sweating off my mascara. I tried it once, and now I'm hooked. Thanks to my Middle Eastern genes, my natural lashes are very long, thick, and dark, so the perm takes them to the next level. Now that the weather's finally getting warmer in New York, all I need is a lash lift, rosy cheeks, and I'm good to go."

"I am all about peptide therapy at the moment. I had to consult a specialist and get my bloodwork done (she came to my house and was in and out in five minutes). There are different kinds of peptides, but I focused mine on sleep quality, increased cognitive function, and lean muscle growth. I can tell a huge difference. The only drag is having to inject yourself every day… but maybe that’s part of the reason I’m obsessed. Not for the faint of heart!"

"From the little I know about the skincare world, Sofie Pavitt Face is trending, and I'm obsessed with her new Omega Rich moisturizer. (Botox is also trending, but I refuse to tap into that until I'm a Real Housewife, so this moisturizer feels like the next best thing for my 35-year-old skin.) I love this cream especially when I'm traveling... It literally zaps the jetlag out of my face."

"I chose something that is timeless, although we will run out one day due to the finite nature of this naturally occurring product: water. Specifically, water in a clear cup with a top and a straw. I have this scientific theory based on a sample size of one (me) that if you drink out of a container with a straw, you’re likely to drink a higher volume because it requires less effort to take a sip. You just bring it up to your mouth as opposed to throwing your head back. The clear container is also critical because you can see how much water you have left and refill constantly. Bonus points for ice, which actually melts into more water. I’m clumsy so the screw top is a must. Sippy cups are not just for kids."

"According to Mami, the trends worth trying right now are… continuous light and Biodance facemasks on the go—skincare that keeps up with my chaos. I’m also all about reading books that actually feel like real storytelling, and inspire my style of work. And I’m totally hooked on the HigherDose sauna blanket—stress just melts away, cortisol drops, and honestly, I can’t do without it."

"I don’t have a specific fashion trend in mind, but in a city where dressing down is the default, I’m leaning into being overdressed: tailored suiting, structured silhouettes, showing up polished even when the dress code says otherwise. Less about fitting in, more about showing up for myself."

"This spring, I’m indulging in delicious maximalism—jewelry that looks good enough to eat. Think cocktail-hour crustaceans, statement sea creatures, and oversized fauna served with a side of pasta. It’s not about blending in, but about feasting on fantasy. Accessories should feel like a celebration—bold, bizarre, and a little bit surreal."
