On May 2, Lafayette 148 New York kicked off the opening of L148 at The Colony, in Palm Beach, Florida with a celebration for the ages. The luxury womenswear brand’s pop-up showcases the Spring Summer 2022 collection as well as its new swim line, L148, in perfect time for beach season. The two-day limited engagement launched with a VIP breakfast on Monday hosted by Lafayette 148’s creative director, Emily Smith and editor and tastemaker Stefano Tonchi.

The event was attended by notable and accomplished creatives in the fields of art and fashion including actor Claire Holt, Katie Sturino, Pilar Alvarez, stylists Micaela Erlanger and Lara Estefan Coppola, Jill Esterman and Stephanie Hill, among others. While these fashionable guests shopped Lafayette 148’s tactile knits and sustainable bikinis, they also admired a selection of artworks by Los Angeles-based artist Audra Weaser, on loan from Samuel Owen Gallery in Greenwich, Connecticut and curated by Devon McCready, and a decorative installation by Kelly Harridge Designs. Weaser’s large scale abstract paintings allude to the natural world, and even incorporate sand, a perfect complement to the pop-up’s fashions.

The new L148 Swim collection reflects the brand’s tradition of quality and use of sustainable materials, and it was created with specialized Italian craftsmen to ensure so. Each item is made of ECONYL, a 100 percent regenerated nylon yarn developed from reclaimed ocean plastics. Known for sport and technical performance, the material lends itself well to the modern silhouettes of L148 Swim.
