Interior design and furniture showroom Solesdi and Cultured welcomed guests to a special art experience on December 2 during Miami Art Week. A cocktail party doubled as an exhibition opening, presenting a collection of Latin American works by artists including Luis Tomasello, Carlos Medina and Victor Valera, as curated by Ascaso Gallery.
The celebration took place in the Solesdi showroom, an eye-catching white building, complete with brick detailing, ornamental accents and rounded arches, nestled in the heart of the Miami Design District. The interior of the showroom is equally aesthetically pleasing—a light and airy space adorned with minimalist wooden walls, spectacular lighting and a lush assortment of green house plants.
The artists’ works were placed throughout the interior of the building, allowing visitors to stumble upon mesmerizing pieces. Partygoers admired Venezuelan talent Carlos Medina’s gravity-defying suspended artwork, which greeted attendees as they walked down a wood-paneled hallway. The piece was previously featured in his solo exhibition “Beyond the Visible” at Miami’s Ascaso Gallery.
Accompanying the exhibition, the private cocktail soiree paired Maestro Dobel tequila with a special tasting menu by celebrity chef Walter Martino, offering guests the opportunity to merge art with flavor for the ultimate sensory experience. A bartender poured sipping glasses of tequila, paired with a seemingly limitless supply of fresh limes.
Guests—including Santiago Estevez, Lacy Berroa, Andres Berroa, Mauricio Castrigonza, Andres Arango, Maria Avila, Victor Garcia, Naldo Giraldo, Andrea Bellirio and Josue Pereiro—nibbled on hors d’oeuvres while engaging in spirited discussions regarding their Art Basel Miami Beach experiences. Attendees also flipped through copies of Cultured’s new Winter issue featuring musician Finneas, which were scattered across the showroom. Those who preferred a quieter place to mingle stepped outside onto the string light-adorned patio to lounge on the outdoor seating, while sipping their cocktails. The event was the perfect way to ring in another memorable Miami Art Week.
