In the midst of the frenetic New York Fashion Week schedule, CULTURED and KidSuper designer and artist Colm Dillane hosted an intimate dinner at the brand’s sprawling 10,000-square-foot Williamsburg studio. The night offered attendees an eclectic blend of KidSuper’s sartorial world-building, new looks recently arrived from Paris, conversation about the season’s highlights, and a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Dillane’s practice.
Before settling in at the dinner table, guests were welcomed to join an exclusive tour of KidSuper Studios. The space functions as the brand’s headquarters and retail space, and is peppered with amenities—from a recording studio to a rooftop soccer field—that reflect the cheeky spirit of the line and its designer. “This building is kind of my greatest achievement,” Dillane noted.
In a full-circle moment, the meticulously-planned Italian dinner that followed was presented by Dillane’s longtime friend and supporter Eric Madonna, of the new Bar Madonna in East Williamsburg. Guests tucked into an array of antipasti and arancini, with crayons at the ready to continue scrawling across the tablecloths. Kale pesto rigatoni and braised short rib made their way down the row as a main course, and tiramisu closed the feast on a sweet, celebratory note.
A mix of fashion- and art-world insiders and staples of the KidSuper universe reigned over the crowd. Spotted were style tastemakers Jake Fleming, Clara Perlmutter, Alioune Badara Fall, Caleb Simpson, and Rob Li, alongside designer Kent Anthony, gallerist Hannah Traore, DJ Sophia Ziskin, actor Jack Cameron Kay, curator Zoe Lukov, models Cate Underwood and Peter Dupont, fashion critic Rian Phin, and musician Gashi.
By the night’s close, the only thing more festive than the atmosphere was the doodle-covered evidence left behind—proof that a party with KidSuper and CULTURED is bound to spill outside the traditional bounds. In this spirit, the hosts sent each attendee home with a stuffed tote bag featuring two special giveaways: the inaugural CULTURED at Home interiors issue and KidSuper’s new book with Rizzoli, The Misadventures of KidSuper.
