Any alpine addict knows that when you’re skiing, you need clothes that can do it all. Balenciaga’s latest skiwear collection was made to work hard on the slopes, and gather looks at the lodge. Shot by Charli XCX and Billie Eilish’s preferred director Aidan Zamiri, the campaign shows off a flurry of utilitarian looks in the heart of Paris—featuring sweeping balconies, quiet street corners, and bustling trains.
Dressing slope-to-street is all about layers. Balenciaga’s base layers are insulating but not stuffy, taking their design cues from the highly thoughtful gear of professional athletes. Select from an insulating fleece zip-up with a high collar and slightly oversize fit for movement, or try on a skin-hugging hoodie with fur trim. Nylon shells will keep the wearer dry (no one wants wet clothes at the après-ski, after all). Meanwhile, the outerwear arrives in black reversible puffer jackets and down-filled gilets.
The ski accessories provide a further collision of snow-forward flourishes and tasteful style. For the gearheads, there are helmets, snowboards, skis, and goggles developed with leading Italian snow equipment manufacturers Off the mountain, while new platform mules inspired by the Alaska line are available in split calfskin and lined with shearling. A winter-ready version of Le City bag has never looked as cozy as it does decked out in rich, chocolatey leather, fur, and a caramel bow. It’s sister, the Rodeo, can be found decked out in fleece-lined suede.
The Balenciaga 2025 Skiwear Collection is available now at Balenciaga Bal Harbor Shops, 9700 Collins Ave Miami, FL 33154 and on balenciaga.com.
