Behind the doors of a Beverly Hills gallery, industry chatter and clinking glasses could be heard as guests fêted CULTURED‘s September issue featuring actor Vicky Krieps (wearing Issey Miyake and Comme des Garçons on her cover, no less). Friends of Krieps—including her creative team, fellow film crew, artists, and designers—gathered to share in the festivities.
The Locale: The Beverly Hills outpost of Michael Werner Gallery was transformed after dark with a selection of rich abstractions on view by the late artist Per Kirkeby. Guests traversed the gallery space and a tree-filled courtyard long after the sun set.
Food & Drink: Ruinart champagne, as well as Prickly Pear Ranch Water Water and a margarita by LALO Tequila, provided a moment of poised refreshment for the gathered revelers.
The Crowd: A vibrant mix of creatives across industries gathered to celebrate Krieps’s CULTURED cover. Amongst the fray were director Janicza Bravo; High Sport designer Alissa Zachary; artists Paris Reid, Emma Webster, Kim DeJesus, and Dean Levin; composer Ludwig Göransson; model and actor Juliette Labelle; directors Jeff Desom and Andrew Gori; interior designer Pali Xisto Cornelsen; photographers Alex Nataf and Tatiana Bruening; and collector Ben Weyerhaeuser.
Parting Gift: Guests departed with a copy of the Vicky Krieps issue under arm, a keepsake that captures the evening’s energy and vibrancy of its cover star, whose most recent onscreen features include Jim Jarmusch’s Father Mother Sister Brother and Monster: The Ed Gein Story, long after the last of the champagne poured.
What You Missed: Krieps offering her two cents on the gallery show, as well as her favorite moment from her photo shoot. If you didn’t make the party, you can still catch a bit of the latter in our catch up with the actor here.
