There are very few February 29ths to be had in a lifetime, and perhaps rarer still are those dates where you find yourself in full black tie. Attendees of the Bass Ball last Saturday get to claim both, thanks to the Alexander McQueen-backed fundraiser which helped bring in critical capital for the museum’s special exhibitions and ongoing programming. Inspired by Romanticism, the evening offered a reprieve not only from the regular calendar year but from the chaos of the contemporary mindset, if only for dinner.
