On April 16, Cultured and Turkish master jeweler Sevan Biçakçi hosted an intimate luncheon at The Bass to celebrate Sheila Hicks’s exhibition Campo Abierto (Open Field). The afternoon began with guests exploring vitrines of awe-inspiring, handcrafted jewelry arranged by Sevan Biçakçi’s creative director, Emre Dilaver. Curator Leilani Lynch then led a private tour through Campo Abierto that ended with a lunch featuring a delicious Sheila Hicks inspired dessert. Among the attendees were Mera Rubell, Mosha Lundström Halbert and Susie Wahab.
Campo Abierto runs through September 29, 2019. The exhibition brings together several colorful large textile installations, as well as more intimately-scaled works that explore the source of emotion in colors and their effects on the human brain. Hicks’s work prompts contemplations on collaboration, dialogue and discussion.
