Located at 4041 Collins Avenue, The Confidante has an animated history. It originally dates back to the 1940s, better known as Miami’s Golden Era. The newly renovated hotel is a member of the Unbound Collection by the Hyatt chain. In addition to its sought after beach access (and access to the famous Miami Beach boardwalk), the Confidante now stands as a three-towered property featuring two pools with colorful cabanas, dining, and a rooftop spa.

Though recently renovated with modern amenities, the hotel still emits hints of its prior Art Deco aesthetic that at one time encompassed the design of nearly every building in the city—and, no matter the decade, a ballroom symbolizes a sense of allure. These natural mood-setters still feel like a rarity in many hotels; the Confidante is proud of the Carmen Miranda Ballroom, its new oceanfront ballroom for meetings, weddings and special events.

Named in honor of the 1930s-era, Portuguese-born Brazilian samba singer, dancer, and film star, the $5.5 million, 2,300-square foot event space can accommodate a total of 330 guests. The venue is divided into two parts and opens up to a wide, private wrap-around terrace overlooking the vast Atlantic Ocean. Without even stepping outside, guests can marvel at the view through its surrounding floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light. Those looking to throw a more jam-packed affair will be pleased to know the room comes with a customizable LED lighting system and surround sound system for music and performances.

In terms of its design, the space has mid-century modern décor and tropical accents of peach, pink and green palm print wall designs are found throughout. If dancing is on the agenda, guests are invited to set foot upon the decorative Terrazzo flooring to groove. In addition, the ballroom’s staircase grants direct access to the pool and beach area; visitors can also enter the ballroom through the Backyard, which is home to The 1930s House, the property’s historic free standing Spanish-style bungalow.

The new Carmen Miranda ballroom is available for bookings starting January 1, 2019. The Confidante is offering an exclusive wedding offer for the ballroom’s inaugural year: bookings that take place by March 31, 2019 will be granted special benefits, including 50% off the ceremony site free, 10% off current wedding menu pricing per person, complimentary food and beverage updates, and $500 towards a post-wedding brunch, rehearsal dinner or welcome reception. This will also come with a room upgrade for the night of the wedding. Besides this one-time offer, those looking to host an event should keep the valued space on their roster, as it is sure to provide a delightful environment for your guests.
