Old-world glamour and modern sophistication converge in Palm Beach with the debut of The Cabana Bungalow at The Colony Hotel—a richly layered retreat that feels as if it were plucked from the pages of a design aficionado’s dream.

Created in collaboration with Cabana Magazine, this one-of-a-kind residence is a testament to both brands’ devotion to craftsmanship, discovery, and the enduring allure of Palm Beach style, brought to life roughly a year after Sarah Wetenhall, The Colony's owner and CEO, called on the Milan-based magazine to take part in redesigning the hotel's latest residence. More than just a place to stay, the Bungalow offers an immersive experience, complemented by a capsule collection featuring custom floral linens inspired by the lush gardens of Palm Beach and Cabana’s signature Ginori plates, awash in The Colony’s iconic pink.

Designed by Cabana Magazine's founder and Editor-in-Chief Martina Mondadori in partnership with celebrated designer Ashley Hicks, the Bungalow reflects a deep reverence for legendary decorators while exuding a fresh, collected sensibility. The living room pays homage to Italian icon Verde Visconti, layering rich textures and bold colors with upholstered furniture, wicker accents, and grasscloth walls that weave past and present together. Thoughtfully curated details—Cabana’s bespoke poufs, a vintage Japanned cabinet acquired at auction—underscore a commitment to artistry, making the space feel like a beautifully lived-in work of art.

The dining room channels the bohemian spirit of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé’s Villa Mabrouka in Tangier, where faux bamboo chairs meet hand-painted Ginori 1735 floral porcelain plates. A vintage alabaster lamp punctuates the space with a quiet elegance. In the kitchen, an all-tile island—an ode to Yves Saint Laurent’s Russian dacha—injects playful eccentricity, nodding to the layered, collected aesthetic that defines the Bungalow.

Select design partners further enrich the project: Schumacher’s storied textiles add depth, while handcrafted lamps from Villa Bologna Pottery and custom furnishings from Society Social enhance the bungalow’s character. Guests staying in this one-of-a-kind hideaway enjoy full hotel amenities, a private entrance, VIP concierge service, and exclusive access to the residence-only pool.

The Colony Hotel’s redesigned bungalow isn't just another stylish suite—it’s a living gallery of design, an elegant dialogue between past and present, and a testament to Palm Beach’s flourishing artistic landscape, where the area's signature vibrancy unfolds in layers of effortless sophistication.
