Art Basel Miami Beach may have helped make the South Florida island city into an art-world destination, but the cultural activities don’t stop once the booths are broken down and the crates are shipped out. Fairgoers may have recently departed South Beach, but the city wants to make sure you know that art is accessible and available to sun-loving culture vultures all year round.

Looking to enjoy art as you shop? Lincoln Road recently unveiled new public artworks including “XO World” by Daniel Anderson and a life-size butterfly wing sculpture by Rubem Robierb. Those who prefer to see art installed in situ may opt for the Open House Miami Festival, now in its second year. The event, which enables visitors and locals alike to peer inside gems of Miami Beach architecture and design, runs from February 28 through March 2, 2025.

"Miami Beach is famous for iconic art fairs in December, however, our city is home to an ongoing schedule of immersive exhibitions, installations, events and festivals that extend well beyond the traditional season," says Peggy Benua, Chairwoman, Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority.

The city of Miami Beach has made it easier than ever to plan an art-filled getaway with the Plan EXP Miami Beach Tours App, a 2024 Travel Weekly Magellan Gold winner in the Hospitality Marketing-Mobile App category. The platform is chock full of event guides, gallery highlights, recommendations, and details on special hotel rates and packages. Curated itineraries from city experts take vistors to local landmarks, Michelin-starred restaurants, and public artworks. Visitors can also follow along with new announcements at the Experience Miami Beach Instagram page

"We are proud to have been recognized with a silver award by the Travel Weekly Magellan Awards in the city destination category," said Benua in a statement, "showcasing how our city scene appeals to all travelers during all four seasons." If you love Miami Beach’s art scene during Art Basel, imagine how much you might enjoy it with less competition for dinner reservations and a lot less traffic.
